DESCRIPTION:A Rail Forum event:\n‘Collaboration’ has become a bit of a buzzword in rail in recent times. But what does it mean for the supply chain\, why is it important and how can we ensure it works for everyone? \nCollaboration can take many forms – from establishing a formal joint venture (JV) company to a simple handshake in the pub! How do you decide what’s the best approach for your business and what are the risks and benefits attached to that approach? \nClients are now consistently citing the importance of collaboration in delivering the best value for them and their funders and the increased presence of JVs in the market demonstrates that in some areas at least the supply chain has responded to this. In addition\, Network Rail has expressed a need for ‘thinner supply chains’ moving forward with more responsibility being placed on their tier ones. This means that EFFECTIVE collaboration between tier one companies and the wider supply chain including SMEs will become even more important. \nFor collaboration to work it must be a win-win for all parties involved. This event aims to be as ‘three-dimensional’ as possible discussing more widely what ‘collaboration’ means/might entail for members moving forward.
